The feeling of having that first cup of freshly grounded coffee to start the date is so special. But people living in your household may not agree as most grinders are often noisy. Are you searching for a quiet grinder that does not break the bank and give you uniform grounds every time? Then looks no more.

The Eureka Mignon Specialita is an easy-to-use burr grinder with 55 mm burrs and has a touch screen display that makes all the difference. It grinds quietly and its controls are simple and responsive.

Why You Should Get It

The Mignon Specialta is a superb espresso grinder, with its quiet grinding and touchscreen controls. The micrometric grind adjustment knob is one of the easiest ways to make very fine changes to grind size that we've experienced, as well. Plus, with a height of under 35cm, this coffee and espresso grinder will fit just about anywhere. If you're looking for a compact, espresso-focused grinder, this is the one for you.

Eureka Mignon Specialita Overview

The Eureka Mignon Specialita is an all-purpose grinder with 55 mm flat hardened steel burrs that give it the highest output in Eureka’s Mignon range. The touch screen display is a stand-out feature for a grinder so small, making adjustment as easy as it should be. With its larger burrs, the Mignon Specialita can produce up to 1.8g of coffee per second for espresso, meaning it can produce a barista quality 18g double shot in as little as 10 seconds.

Features and Performance

First of all—the touch screen. We're thrilled with how intuitive it is. It's vibrant, with large font size and clean controls. Grind time is adjustable in tenths of a second using the "+" and "-" buttons, and you can freely switch between single and double shots. Also, you can switch to a manual mode for continuous grinding, or lock in your timed settings to keep other people from fiddling.

For performance, it's equipped with 55 mm flat hardened steel burrs and a strong 1350 RPM motor with an output of 1.4 - 1.8g/s for espresso and 1.9 - 2.5g/s for brew. Eureka's ACE system helps prevent clumping by eliminating static in ground coffee, which in turn ensures dose consistency.

It's quiet, measuring in at about 73 dBA, so you won't ever need to stop a conversation to make your drinks. It brings Eureka's patented micrometric adjustment, so you expect smooth, stepless adjustments when dialing in the grind. Plus, the portafilter holder fork is adjustable to work with any portafilter on the market.

Superb, changed my coffee for the better!

After years of using a Breville “Smart” grinder (in cranberry red) I upgraded to the Eureak Mignon Specialita and am really enjoying the benefits. Wow what a quality piece, and so easy to set up and use. It’s quieter than I expected and was used to, which is a pleasure, and consistency of grind is excellent. My only wish was to have better access here in Australia to the great range of colours and variations that Eureka make. But the standard black and chrome combo is a handsome unit, so no complaints. Highly recommended!

Well made and heavy. Very good coffee grinding for espresso. Yes, I know good espresso grinders can cost well over a $1000, but here are a few disappointments for me that keeps this from a 5-star: Portafilter bracket - it is laser cut and solid, but the fit into the unit is not precise and it moves around. Wish it had a pressure-on switch on the holder (ie., press down on the portafilter bracket) and not just the button. The bracket doesn't look that nice and has rough looking edges. Second, the hopper could be better designed. The hopper cover in particular is difficult to remove (great it has a nice fitting and seal) but you need to use fingernails to remove it. One or two small tabs would be much welcomed. Grind adjustment - love the stepless design, but it seems just a tad too course - wish it would rotate the burr just a bit finer. The grind output has excellent resistance to static and thus has minimal retention. Also, as the name implies it is wonderfully quiet compared to many other grinders. Definitely recommend it in this price range.
